Shoe fetish, anyone?

15 03 2011

In February my husband and I took a trip to Petoskey for a combination work/play weekend. He had some business there, and I came along for the ride.

For many years, we’ve seen the tree. It’s on Highway 131, and I’ve wanted to take a picture of it but never have. Until this year. We stopped on our way home just long enough for a me to take a shot of it–the shoe tree.

About a third of it is missing now, thanks to road work and ‘improvements’ done alongside the road. But it’s still pretty unique. Makes you wonder how some of them got there and who they belonged to. The ones way up high must have been a challenge to hang. Lots of stories there….
