Circle of life

Over the past few weeks I’ve had the privilege of watching robins tending their young. It began with beautiful aqua eggs, then progressed to tiny pink birds, and now they’re starting to leave the nest. I watched the first one take flight this morning.

 Two years ago the robins built a nest in the same little tree beside our front porch, but with a much different outcome. I wrote a poem titled “circle of life” based on that year, which I’ve added to the nature poems section. Here are some pictures of the progression this year.
